Coronavirus cases in India crossed 17000 on Monday as the total number of cases stood at 17265 which includes 14175 active cases, 2546 cured/discharged, 1 migrant patient and 543 death. 1553 cases and 36 deaths reported in last 24 hours which is the highest single-day spike in India.
Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit with 3,651 cases and 211 fatalities. Followed by Delhi, where the number of COVID-19 cases stands at 2000 and while 45 patients have lost their lives.
The ICMR in a release informed that a total of 4,01,586 samples from 3,83,985 individuals have been tested as on April 19 2020, 9 pm IST. Atleast, 17,615 individuals have been confirmed positive among suspected cases and contacts of known positive cases in India.
Bihar: Total number of cases in the state stands at 96 out of which 52 are active cases, 42 recovered case and death toll at 2.
Rajasthan: 17 new cases reported today out of which 8 cases were reported from Jaipur. Total number of COVID-19 cases in the state at 1,495.
Maharashtra: BMC appeals recovered COVID-19 patients to donate their blood & plasma as they carry antibodies that can protect against the virus.
