Covid-19 in Lucknow: Soon, FIR against those violating isolation directive
LUCKNOW: The district administration on Friday announced that legal action will be taken against a suspected novel coronavirus patient, his/her family members and those with whom he/she had been in close contact if such persons do not comply with isolation orders required to check the spread of the virus. An FIR will be registered against such persons under section 188 of Indian Penal Code for wilfully disobeying orders of a government servant. The violation will invite a month's imprisonment and fine.
Coronavirus outbreak live coverage This was decided at a meeting of the district administration chaired by divisional commissioner Mukesh Meshram and attended by district magistrate Abhishek Prakash. Meanwhile, a temporary 100-bedded isolation hospital will be set up at the Super Speciality Cancer Institute on Shaheed Path and in the District Urban Development Authority building in Gomtinagar, besides installing thermal scanners in all hospitals. The DM has announced to postpone the public hearing programme 'prashasan aapke dwar' till further orders. The district has been divided into eight zones each with a 'link hospital', where suspected cases will be brought first before being referred to big hospitals.
The DM has also directed all hospitals to install display boards to inform patients about their turn for examination, instead of making them stand in queue with others. Railways and state roadways authorities have been requested to mark separate rooms for suspected cases and area for ambulances to transport them to hospitals.
