Lucknow: All India Congress Party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to increase the facility of corona testing and treatment in UP. In the letter, Priyanka has written that the corona virus is spreading its fury in Uttar Pradesh, including the entire country. This is a big challenge in front of the health system, how can we identify and treat the infected people with the virus and stop the infection from moving forward.

He has written that increasing the number of screening and testing is a very effective way to prevent infection. South Korea, a country with a population of 60 million, has tested about six people for every 1000 people and has succeeded in preventing the infection of the virus. In Bhilwara, Rajasthan, work was done on a war footing and within nine days, more than 24 lakh people were screened and maximum number of tests were done and the infected people were identified.

It is necessary to increase the number of tests

The population of Uttar Pradesh is around 23 crores, while the number of samples taken for testing is only around 7000. According to the population, the number of investigations being done in the state is very less. It is necessary to speed up the testing. For a state with a large population like Uttar Pradesh, increasing the number of tests can prove to be a panacea.

In the letter, he has written to the Chief Minister suggesting that by examining as many people as possible, we will have to treat 'mild to moderate high risk cases' with war-ready readiness, so that our ICUs are put under minimum pressure. Also, your isolation ward and quarantine centers will have to be tailored to human dignity. Expressing concern, he has written that news of misery is coming from many quarantine centers in the state.

In many places, arrangements for eating, staying and cleaning are not right. Please try to get it organized by taking this into consideration. Food, ration and allowance should be given to the families of the poor people in these centers with a guarantee so that these individuals can reduce the anxiety about their family members.

Many people are trying to hide the disease

It is also written in the letter that the news of infection at the social level in India has started coming. It is seen that in those urban clusters which are densely populated, the infection is spreading more. There are many reports that infected persons are also trying to hide their disease. This is happening due to widespread social fear about Corona.

Therefore, it is important that in these clusters, proper information should be given on the war footing and the spread of rumors and misconceptions should be stopped immediately. Priyanka has written to the Chief Minister that you have declared yourself mandatory to wear masks from tomorrow. Please ensure the distribution of war level masks and sanitizers and people should be told clearly where and how they will get masks and sanitizers.

It is important that the government should take such steps so that people themselves come forward to awaken the trust and confidence of the common people at the social level. One way of doing this can be that the help of NGOs, social organizations, activists of other political parties working in these areas should be taken and consulted and involved in this fight.

Congress ready to help in times of crisis

Priyanka also said that the Congress is always ready to help in this crisis. Victory on this epidemic can be achieved only by winning the trust of the people. It is not the responsibility of the administration to spread fear or isolate it, but in fact, it is the responsibility of the administration to help people and make them comfortable, so that no one becomes furious and people will come forward and support the administration.

Quoting Nobel Prize-winning economist Amartya Sen at the end of the letter, the Secretary-General has written that participative administration, maximum mass democracy on the basis of correct information and maximum participation of people is most important in the fight against an epidemic like Corona. We are together in fighting this epidemic.

The corona virus has no caste and religion. Its effect is the same on everyone. In this war, we need to take steps to create a fear-free environment that brings together the entire people, keeping our political thinking out. Every leader and every worker of the Congress party is ready to support the public.
