Coronavirus pandemic has affected the whole world massively. India is also under the attack of Covid-19. The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has imposed a countrywide lockdown in India until April 15. Moreover, the number of Covid-19 affected people in India is rising day by day. So, in such a situation, many celebrities have decided to contribute to monetary funds. They are contributing to help the citizens deal with this pandemic and government-imposed lockdown. Bollywood actors like Hritik Roshan and Rajinikanth have contributed with monetary help. Sportspersons like PV Sindhu, Hima Das, and Bajrang Punia are some of the notable names who have provided their support in this crisis.
CRICKETERS AND CELEBRITIES DONATED TO FIGHT WITH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
Many cricketers have also contributed to the charity in the wake of his Covid-19 crisis. Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir contributed 50 lakhs rupees each to various Government relief funds. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has promised to donate rice worth Rupees 50 Lakhs to his state West Bengal. Moreover, reports say that he is negotiating with the government to offer the Eden Gardens as a refuge-facility for displaced workers. Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan gave away 5000 breathing masks to the Vadodara health department.

While, amidst these contributions, some people and fans have targetted the former India captain MS Dhoni for his contributions in this crisis. MS Dhoni has donated 1 lakh rupees to the Mukul Madhav Foundation, a Pune-based charitable trust. A few people started to raise questions over his contributions, comparing it with the other cricketers. Additionally, they even called Dhoni to be ‘miserly’ in his contributions.
