There was a huge demand on social media for the retelecast of Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan and BR Chopra's Mahabharat during the 21-day lockdown to fight coronavirus. Doordarshan has taken note. Ramayan will be back on the small screen from Saturday, March 28, on DD National.
Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, took to Twitter to announce the good news. He wrote, "Happy to announce that on public demand, we are starting retelecast of 'Ramayana' from tomorrow, Saturday March 28 in DD National, One episode in morning 9 am to 10 am, another in the evening 9 pm to 10 pm. @narendramodi @PIBIndia @DDNational.(sic)"

Starting Saturday, two episodes will be telecast every day. The first episode will air in the morning from 9 am to 10 am, while the second will be telecast in the evening from 9 pm to 10 pm.
